Summary

CatCraft has two kinds of pets. You can tame animals the normal vanilla way, and you can also get a cosmetic pet from the pet shop that follows you around, which you can ride, wear as a hat and customise. This page covers both, plus how to give a tamed animal to another player and how to get a parrot on your shoulder.

Tamed animals

Taming works just like vanilla Minecraft. Wolves, cats, parrots, horses and other tameable animals belong to you once tamed.

• Tamed animals inside your claim are protected. Other players can’t hurt them, and they need container trust to interact with animals in your claim. See Claims.
• Your tamed animals are also protected from players while you have PvP turned off or are offline.
• Sneak and right-click a tamed animal with an empty hand to pet it. It makes a happy sound and heals a little.

Giving a pet to another player

You can give a tamed animal to a friend, as long as you tamed it.

1. Stand close to the animal and look at it.
2. Type /givepet [player].
3. The other player has two minutes to type /acceptpet or /declinepet. Stay near the animal until they answer.

You can only have one transfer waiting at a time.

Command	What it does
/givepet [player]	Offer the tamed animal you’re looking at to another player.
/acceptpet	Accept a pet someone is giving you.
/declinepet	Decline a pet someone is giving you.

Pet shop pets

Type /petshop to browse the pet shop. There are dozens of pets to choose from, from chickens, cats and foxes to pandas, camels and even a warden. Each pet can be bought or rented.

• Buy a pet to keep it forever.
• Rent a pet for 24 hours. Renting costs much less than buying, usually a tenth of the price.

Pets are paid for with your diamond bank balance. Type /balance to check it.

Once you own a pet, type /pet to open the pet menu. From there you can spawn your pets, ride them, wear them as a hat, name them, flip them upside down and remove them. You can also change things such as whether the pet is a baby, sits, glows or stays silent.

• You can have one pet out at a time.
• Your pet comes back when you log in, after you die and when you change worlds.
• Pets can’t be used at spawn, in the market, in the minigames world or in the PvP world.

/petshop	Buy or rent a pet.
/pet	Open the pet menu.
/pet call	Bring your pet back to you.
/pet remove	Put your pet away.

Parrots

Type /parrots to put a parrot on your shoulder. You can pick a gray, blue, cyan, green or red parrot, choose the left, right or both shoulders, and remove it again from the same menu.
