Summary

Armour stands work just like vanilla, and on CatCraft you can also pose them, dress them and move them with a piece of flint, without any commands. Use them to show off your armour, build statues, set up shop displays or bring a scene to life.

Getting started

  1. Place an armour stand where you want it.
  2. Hold a piece of flint in your main hand. This is your editing tool.
  3. Left-click or right-click the air, away from any armour stand, to open the Armor Stand Editor Menu.
  4. Pick what you want to change, such as the head, an arm or a leg.
  5. Left-click the armour stand to apply the change. Right-click it to do the same change in reverse.

Keep clicking to keep turning a body part. Open the menu again any time to pick something else.

Posing body parts

Choose the Head, Body, Left Arm, Right Arm, Left Leg or Right Leg in the menu, then click the armour stand to turn that part.

  • Axis. Each part turns along the X, Y or Z axis, which you choose in the menu. Try each one to see which way the part moves. You can also hold sneak and scroll the mouse wheel to switch axis without opening the menu.
  • Coarse Adjustment. Big steps of 30 degrees, good for getting the rough pose.
  • Fine Adjustment. Small steps of 3 degrees, good for finishing touches.
  • Reset Pose. Puts the selected body part back to its normal position.

Preset poses

Not sure where to start? Open Preset Poses in the menu and pick one, such as Sitting, Waving, Dancing, Archer, Cheers, Hanging, Present or Fishing. The menu closes and the pose is applied. You can then fine-tune it with the body part options.

Moving and rotating

  • Placement. Moves the whole armour stand a little at a time along the axis you have chosen. Left-click moves it one way, right-click the other.
  • Rotate. Turns the whole armour stand to face a different direction.

Equipment

Choose Equipment in the menu, then click the armour stand to open its equipment slots. Drag a helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots and items for each hand into the slots. Any item you can hold works in the hand slots.

Choose Disable Slots and click the armour stand to lock its equipment, so nobody can take items off it by hand. Do the same again to unlock it.

Looks

  • Show Arms. Turns the armour stand’s arms on or off. Arms are needed to hold items.
  • BasePlate. Turns the stone plate under the armour stand on or off.
  • Gravity. With gravity off, the armour stand stays exactly where you put it, even in mid-air.

Naming an armour stand

Rename a name tag in an anvil and use it on an armour stand to give it a name that floats above it, just like naming a mob.

Tips

  • Editing the right stand. If several armour stands are close together, look at the one you want and press your swap-hands key (F by default) while holding the flint. That locks your edits to that armour stand. Press it again to unlock it.
  • Claims. You can only edit armour stands where you’re allowed to build. In your own claim your armour stands are safe from other players.
  • One at a time. Only one player can edit an armour stand at once. If someone else is editing it, wait for them to finish.
  • Bedrock players. Left-click means hitting and right-click means using an item, so attack the armour stand to apply a change and use the flint on it to reverse it.
